The deal and the 3 main reasons why she fancied you after you asked her:
1. Lack of real interest. He is not interested enough to go on a date with you. He could have been hesitant already, or lost interest in you after getting to know you a little more.
2. Ejection This is actually result #1. Many women find it easier to disappear/not respond than to engage and have a potentially awkward, awkward, or frustrating conversation. I think both men and women are more inclined to take the easy way out when they barely know someone, especially when they convince themselves that they don’t owe that person an explanation.
I myself was guilty of this. And honestly, some of these conversations are just difficult. Maybe we (speaking on behalf of women here) have exchanged numbers with someone and because we feel at the right place to meet each other. Maybe we hit it off on a dating app, did a little Instagram stalking, and realized we didn’t care about his best (or worst) photo or lifestyle. Maybe we’re still hanging on to our ex and think it’s a good idea to take a break, only to realize we’re not quite ready. Or maybe we’ve underreacted to someone’s rejection in the past and we fear the same reaction/situation…
3. He is interested in another person. He could be interested in someone else and there’s not much you can do about it (especially if he doesn’t respond).
I understand wanting some level/clarity, especially if you truly believed the interest was mutual. It’s confusing when someone’s actions suddenly contradict the impression they gave you in the beginning. But as sad as it is, sometimes the lack of an explanation is the only explanation you’ll get. And maybe the most important question isn’t why they lost interest, but why you want to keep investing in someone who doesn’t get it back.
If a Google search brought you here, I hope you’ve gotten some clarity and can now focus on someone who is equally interested in getting to know you.
Thanks to all the women who were honest enough to share their experiences and offer a little insight into why someone might suddenly lose interest or disappear altogether.

Stephanie
