Why is there so much negativity surrounding dating apps, and yet every time I venture into the world of online dating for my clients, I encounter healthy, emotionally intelligent, commitment-EVERY men. AZEB. TIME?
The answer is surprisingly simple: skill and strategy.
If the idea of having dating skills and strategy feels unreal to you, think about it this way: in 2024, not letting AI into your business is the equivalent of ignoring the importance of respecting your partner’s strengths.
Of course, there are trends where men seem to be putting in less effort, and yes, online scams are on the rise. There is a shift towards fewer people embracing monogamy and marriage – admittedly.
But why let these trends become your problem? It’s time to turn these challenges into your competitive advantage.
Why wouldn’t you want to learn and grow in this area when skills and strategies can make a world of difference in your future happiness?
What do you have to lose?
Actually, very much.
Without these skills, you’re missing out on high-quality opportunities for meaningful connections and a long-term, loving partnership, which surely still exists.
Humans are designed to be together, love and build families.
Don’t give up so quickly.
Don’t fall prey to the hype about how cool dating is these days. Pointing fingers at these reasons will get you nowhere.
Go over them.
You are successful. You are a survivor. You can do this work for you.
I’m not saying you need a relationship to be happy or fulfilled. I’m just saying that if you want one, it’s impossible. It is very possible for you!
Learn how to get your love if you want it!
If you are not there to try, learn and grow, you will be left behind.
There is love for you.
Discipline:
Remember, finding the right person is often a journey that requires time, self-awareness, and a disciplined approach to navigating the complexities of dating. By incorporating discipline into your dating life, you increase the chances of building a meaningful and lasting relationship with someone who aligns with your values and goals.
Being disciplined in your approach to dating means being consistent in your actions. Show yourself, slowly work towards the goal. This means ignoring the top of the straw and going on that date even when you feel like staying under your covers on a windy night. While swiping and dating and, of course, planning time for yourself, putting your love life first will get you to your love goals.
Discipline involves learning from past experiences, both positive and negative. Reflect on past relationships to understand what worked well and what didn’t, to guide your choices in future endeavors. That means extra help if you notice patterns or unclear results.
Staying true to yourself is also about discipline. It allows you to stay true to who you are and what you want in a relationship. It prevents you from compromising your values or changing yourself to fit someone else’s expectations, or from getting weak in the knees and throwing caution to the wind. Instead of falling victim to Oxytocin traps, being disciplined with the Manfunnel Approach will get you there.
Resistance:
Resilience is a valuable trait that can significantly contribute to success in dating. Dating often involves navigating various challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties. Being resilient can help you bounce back from disappointment, maintain a positive outlook, and learn and grow from your experiences.
But Megan, you ask, how can I develop comfort in dating?
Almost every conversation you will have with me in coaching is directed towards building your resilience muscles so that instead of having setbacks and small wounds in your heart that you want to hide, you will be able to shine the light of your heart into the world to attract more magic.
The stories you tell yourself based on every interaction can be the heart of the problem. Learning how to see the world as magical and move through it to one’s own is the goal. Between all of this is a process that everything we do as a whole builds your emotional resilience through new ways of seeing things, the world, understanding men, and having a supportive teacher by your side.
If you find yourself wanting to delete apps and load them back up two weeks, or two days later, or if you’re ready to throw in the towel and forget about a relationship altogether, that’s a clear sign that building your dating resilience can make a big difference in your life!
