Memorial Day And Heroes – Relationship Coaching

This week is Memorial Day in the United States. A time to remember those who fought for our ideals. A time to remember heroes and heroines, known and unknown and forgotten. It makes me think: Do we know what a hero is? Do we still need heroes? Do we have faith in heroes and heroines?

what is a hero

According to Wikipedia, A the hero (heroin for women) was originally a demigod. But then, he came among those who, in the face of danger and difficulty, or from a position of weakness, show courage. They had the will to sacrifice for the greater good of all mankind.

The origin of the word, from Latin and Greek, is believed to mean protection, protector, full protection, guard. Therefore, the basic meaning will be a defender. for the greater good of all humanity.

When we think of past heroes and heroines from any country, they are all considered accordingly brave deeds and noble qualities.

For example, the story of Juana Galán, from Spain (Valdepeñas, 1787-1812), a story that is not well remembered, and that many people outside of Spain do not know. He was twenty years old when he worked in the first winery in his village Valdepeñas.

On June 6, 1808, in the battle of Valdepeñas against Napoleon’s troops, there were not enough men to defend the village. Juana encouraged the women to come out and fight. Other women poured hot water through the windows and poured hot oil on the road. In the meantime, Galán, with a litter, went out into the street to fight against the French cavalry.

With this battle, the French army left the province of La Mancha and was delayed in the Battle of Bailén, which ended with the victory of the Spanish. The name of the city was “Very heroic”. And a hero was born, who later became an inspiration for Spanish women to become more involved in public affairs.

Do we need heroes and brave men?

Traditional heroes only exist to protect people who need protection. Have you become so proud that you think you don’t need heroes? Is your home a place for heroes? Why would heroes want to hang around, and risk their lives with, people who don’t value what heroes stand for, like virtue, morality, and honor?

Maybe we should admit that life can be hard, and that we need heroes to help and inspire us. We may need to ask our heroes for help.

Maybe we need to embrace our heroes instead of treating them like villains. They are still around us. We just forgot how to look for them.

We need to forget the adage that we should make others smaller so that we can feel bigger. Letting others feel guilty is a way to make ourselves look better. We still need to believe in heroes who serve a greater purpose.

Are there heroes or heroines today?

Let’s think about the house. Home heroes are responsible for making the home a haven of love and peace. He is not alone ask everyone in the family to do more with less, but really lead by example when sacrifices are needed.

We need men and women who do not seek power over others, but rather cooperation, compassion and a willingness to serve instead of thinking only about their own comfort.

We need parents who are willing to sacrifice time and effort to connect with their children, instead of letting the “screen” hypnotize them, or exercise just to engage them.

We need parents who are willing to create safe boundaries, even if there are many other people around them to let their youngsters run away. . .

We need people in the family who are willing to be examples of principled, moral living – even in difficult times.

But no one knows about heroes without stories. Look around you and discover the stories of heroism told by your fellow citizens, colleagues and family members. We may need more time for others to tell us their stories of standing up for Country, God and truth.

Are you a hero or a heroine?

I think one of the reasons we don’t try to be heroes or heroines is because we think of a “hero” as someone who doesn’t have flaws. We expect CEOs, Presidents, parents, spouses, etc. to live up to impossible standards. And the media “belittles” every modern “hero” who shows no faults.

Instead, consider being a family hero. Look for the direct link between human values and economic value. Build a family where everyone has a voice. Don’t just look for yourself, but look for the benefits that everyone can achieve.

Look to redefine what is possible, what really matters. Live your values and try to encourage your family to work for quality and excellence. This is what will bring true happiness.

BIRVEANIN. . .

Remember that there is a heavy price for the freedoms that we often take for granted. Ask the people around you about the stories of their loved ones who have died fighting for our country. They are no longer with us, but we must keep the stories alive.

Only then will we be inspired to act bravely when called upon to face danger and adversity. When we are called to protect, protect, protect the entire workplace, family and country.

HAPPY MEMORIAL WEEKEND!
