And somewhere in the middle of it, people start seeing you differently too.
You become “Mom”.
I remember that shortly after I stayed at Serafina. At doctor’s appointments, school activities, and birthday parties, suddenly I was known less by my name and more as “Serafina’s mom.”
But really? I don’t see it as losing my identity. I see it as an extension of it. Totally in the Mama Bear energy that was always there – only stronger now.
Of course, some things have changed. Some things have been reduced… or temporarily released altogether (goodbye, regular manicures 😅).
But who am I at my core? It hasn’t changed. And I think that is true for many mothers.
What I don’t hear discussed enough is how often women lose themselves in relationships. In my personal life – and after 20+ years as a spouse – I’ve seen it happen at every stage of life. From teenage girls who give up friendships for guys… to grown women who reduce themselves within relationships.
And for single mothers—whether by choice or circumstance—the stakes are even higher.
Because who you let into your life doesn’t just affect you.
It affects your child.
Their development.
Their emotional connection.
Their future relationships.
Their lives.
If you’re a single mom who’s ready to redefine your identity—into a partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, or wife—I want to help you do so thoughtfully and intentionally.
